| It's one of those things that I order through my local camera shop, like hot shoe covers, remotes, and shutter cords 'cause it pains me to spend $8 shipping & handling for a $4 part.......8>) |

Yep. Indeed! Just had a look on Jessops, they're selling them for £9 - not too shabby. |

For future reference, if you need parts for your camera, read this (you should already have it in your possession).
For this particular situation, check out pages 17, 165, and 176. :-)

I do.... it's just I'm more a 'click-and-get-the-right-feel and chuck-the-manual-over-my-shoulder-without-reading' kinda gal.... I should read more, I know!
Thanks for the linkage :)

Ha ha! Maybe it's the influence of being brought up with two brothers!
I never read manuals, I always find a way myself.... I don't know why! :D |

Also, the compound word is usually spelled thingamajig, a "thingy" is a different kind of gizmo altogether ... ;-)
And I've usually seen it spelled "doohickey" -- a "dohickey" seems like something you'd get from making-out with Homer Simpson ... :-)
