I dunno 'bout you, but I'm starting to get worried about being able to buy a camera instead of an electronic Swiss Army knife.

I don't want movie mode, I don't give a fiddler's f......fiddle about a GPS....I know where the heck I am, and I sure don't want to catch fish with it.

I also don't want some viewing screen that swivels every direction that will suck up all the money that should be used to make the camera itself better quality......that just looks like something to snap off!

I sincerely hope that there will always be at least one model in both Canon & Nikon's lineups that is "Just" a camera!

Edited for piss-poor typing.....8>)

Nice rant ;)

But the swivel screen is definitely useful. It makes it so you don't have to use a right angle viewfinder adapter. I'm with you on the movie mode though...

that's why i like to dust off the ol' canon ae-1 every now and then, or pull out the yashica tlr. sure, they have batteries, but you're not totally screwed if they die. you know, there is an ongoing film thread...

I guess the one digit series won't have movie mode. And will be the only ones not to have it. I suspect a Nikon D700s will have a full HD movie mode to match the 5Dmk2.

I LOVE the 180 degree swivel screen on my P&S !
I LOVE movie mode for my YouTubng pleasure !
If I had GPS I'd find a way to use it with my Panoramio.

:-O

That new projector on the Nikon P&S would be a frikkin' awesome bell and/or whistle.

My :
No use for movie mode here. I have video on my Powershot S5 and rarely use it.

I can see the projector being useful to some people for boring friends and relatives with vacation snaps. Could be useful for business, but it's certainly a low power projector. Hope they keep that feature away from my own cameras, however.

I like the tilt/swivel screens. Very useful when shooting on a tripod. They do add a degree of fragility, however.

Precisely!

Otherwise, I agree with Jeb.

The projector thingy is a parody, right? I hope so.
