I'll be there for 3 days, 2 nights... I'm taking an obscene amount of memory because I have no control..
I want to try & make the best of my time though.. I'm staying at Mandalay Bay.. Other then the Stratosphere, what other places should I go to for skyline shots.. Stratosphere is so high & windy, not really sure that's going to work.. It's probably been 5 years since I was there so I'm sure it's change a lot... Any Casino's have amazing lobby's that I shouldn't miss.. I'm without the hubby & kids so if I feel like wandering around all night, then dangit, I'm gonna.. So, help me with my list of things to do !!! |

prostitutes...
something different from the strip. There's more to Vegas than the casinos and parties and I'd like to see someone go there and capture the people and spirit of the place rather than the neon. |

Venetian has an indoor canal w/gondolas and some amazing ceilings...Ballagio has the amazing water show and it's gorgeous first thing before the sun rises...lots of pink on the stone and the water. They also have a gorgeous indoor garden and the glass ceiling in the entry. This is a horrid shot!
Freemont street is where the old Golden Nugget and other casinos are (not fancy, but very iconic).
MGM grand has a great outside.. especially at night. Caesars palace has been redone since we were there and I hear it's just beautiful!! If you stick to the strip you will never run out of things to shoot, lol Research the night clubs (most are in the casinos and you will find lots of things you could shoot!
Not sure if the Mirage still has the pirate ship show outside at night. Wish I were going.... have fun and take tons of pictures of everything!

Don't know about skyline. I stayed at the Venetian, and their plazza and canals are amazing. The outdoor one is nice, but the indoor one is incredible because the ceiling is made to look like the sky (including sunrises & sunsets). If you go to my profile, sort my pictures by score, lowest score is The Statue. It was shot in the inside plazza in the restaurant / canal area. Be prepared for low light shooting, but there are lots of things to steady the camera against. There are several foot bridges the gondolas go under, with Italian-style architecture & paths - very, very nice (even without a camera). If you like singing, some of the gondoliers sing as the pole their way along the canal.

That's a great idea.. just basic street photography in general there has to mind blowing.. Especially if you're a people watcher.. I'm kinda nervous to take pictures of strangers on the street though.. Maybe I'll use this as an opportunity to practice my ability to go unnoticed with the camera.. |

depends on the Casino and what or who you are pointing your camrea at. I know most of them will ask you to put it away if security sees you with it.
