I'm not sure if this has been suggested before but I would imagine that at some point it has.
I think it would be nice to have a way to know or be alerted when the people in your favorites list has made a portfolio update. With the increase in the number of favorites it is virtually impossible (or just very time exhaustive) to go through each fav'd person looking to see what they have recently been working on. Being alerted when there is a new photo updated gives me the option to go check it out, and likely fav it or comment on it.
As an example, on the website DeviantArt you are told when someone you are watching has a new photo, and also any new comments to your images by using a simple informative (1D, 2C)* next to your username in the 'user' area of the navbar.
* D meaning new photo, and C meaning new comment. |

I second that idea!
That would be very nice.
Maybe you could have it set for certain folders or galleries?
For example; I wouldn't want to be notified if the member just uploaded a clip from a screen capture to be used in the forum.
Great suggestion Moodville :)
