how about when we reply to a post with a quote we can highlight text in the original message and only that text will be displayed in the new message.... my email program does this, perhaps we can have that function here as well?

That's a great idea, I've been a bit frustrated by trying to just use part of a post. After a while you get a quote with a quote with a quote with a quote...well, you get the idea.

But you can already do this with ease. Select reply with quote, then simply delete any parts of the previous response you don't want. It achieves the same purpose without any extra coding for the Admins

yes but then we have to take the time to avoid deleting the coding and such... would be easier for the users the other way... that's all I was suggesting... :o)

I am confidently sure that this is impossible due to browser constraints.
