I'm just wondering how many people using auto cameras have won ribbons as opposed to dSLR users? Does anyone know?

 Edit: can't spell :P

A lot of the heavyweight ribbon winners started and won with their point & shoot, prosumer cameras.

Is almost an event when a non-dSLR person wins now because of how many people have converted. Almost 1,000 Rebel owners that have signed up.

I looked through the last 3 weeks of challenge results (total of 6 challenges). Nine of the 18 ribbons were won with DSLR's, the other 9 with fixed lens cameras.

Thanks Terry, you have more patience than I. I considered going through the entries, but figured it was easier to ask the forum.

Between the two of them jjbeguin and dsidwell have won 36 ribbons and neither has a dSLR.

It is the photographer that takes great pictures, not the camera!

Are you only considering these two categories, auto and dSLR ?
What about non-dSLR which offer full manual control ?

I think that the better photographer tends to own a DSLR hence why they win more often, I don't think it's becasue of the camera. Not for web pictures.
