Anybody know if the old remote shutter release for the D70 works on the D300? I have one...but can't seem to get it to work.. I'm thinking maybe my battery is dead, but before I go hunting a new battery, I thought I'd see if anybody knows if it works for both..

D300s do not have the IR sesnor that the D70 had for the IR remote. You need a hard wired remote instead.

You can buy an after market IR sensor for the D300 that fits in the 10pin shutter release that is on the front of the camera...

Really? There's not a wireless remote for the D300? That seems like a downgrade to me

Just because your d70 remote isn't compatible, doesn't mean that there isn't a remote trigger to the D300. Duh

There is an after market wire or wireless, that will run you $10-50 (usually via radio)
And there is Nikons own fancy mancy wireless will run you about $350 or wired for $75 and $200

Actually, this remote works for the D300/D3. I didn't realize it existed until just now...I may need to pick it up...
