... thank god I don't have a Mac. The fanboys will blame Windows for iTunes being slow, but everything else works pretty well on my system. iTunes is pig slow. Surely Apple should of pulled out all the stops to showcase their coding talents to us PC users.

I shouldn't even get started on iTunes. I had a thread here a while back about all the trouble I had installing it on my new system. The 64-bit version did not work correctly for four installs, but miraculously worked on the 5th - and I didn't do anything different each time. It cost me several hours of annoyance, and I hate the software to begin with.

So no surprise that it runs slow on a system that otherwise performs well.

Whatever...

Every day I thank God I don't have a PC for reasons too numerous to list.

If this is true you are abusing your powers to thank god, they should only be used for things that make a difference in your life, if the choice between and a Mac and a PC is truly something that makes a real difference in your life, well then your life has no real meaning.

Cool a trash Apple thread! I'll add that the iPhone OS pre 3.0 sucked. I went through two phones where basically I kept getting Apple's version of the blue screen of death. So far version 3.0 has been working great. Now if only big brother Apple would allow access to the OS without the hack method...

This doesn't make the tiniest shred of sense to me...

If it didn't make a difference in peoples' lives, there wouldn't be threads like this.

I think a lower stress level from not having to deal with the problems a PC brings is certainly a difference worthy of thanks.

And everything on my mac works fine except for Microsoft Office 2008 for the mac. iTunes runs fine on my mac but didn't run so hot on my PC because PC's are not apple's forte and macs aren't microsoft's forte.

I found MS Office on the Mac really bad as well, not the interface, but the speed and the reliability. I eventually had to wipe and reinstall the Mac I put it on, that's the only time I've ever had to do that with a Mac!

BTW, I agree with the OP, itunes is pretty bad on the PC, works great on the Mac though.

Using your logic that would also justify every I got screwed by SC on my DQ thread then right? Because they wouldn't exist if it didn't make a difference in their lives huh?

Really? As they say, the devil is in the details.

You and I are not the arbiters of what matters to people, and there have been more than a few members who would rather quit the site than live with a DQ (even if it was an honest mistake).

Good thing you're here to tell everyone how, why, and for what we should thank God.

Before this thread turns into an all out rantathon. Does anyone know of another browser for the ipod touch that you can access sites in regular format vs mobile format? Safari seems to always want to direct me to the mobile version of webpages. in some cases I prefer to not have the mobile version.

Safari is currently the only browser available.

How can anyone qualify definitively whether PC or Mac is better? Surely it's a personal preference. It's like saying, red is better than blue, just because I like red more!

I like Macs, I prefer to use them, if someone else prefers to use a PC well great, good for them, who am I to tell them they are wrong!

Personally, I hope both companies continue to do well. I will soon get to upgrade to the latest version of Mac OS for a minimal fee, and I believe people upgrading from Vista to Win7 will get to do the same. Do you think that would be the case if they weren't fighting for market share, I seriously doubt it!

Apple were recently forced to reduce the price of their hardware because of some smart advertising by Microsoft. For the end user like me, I say, go Microsoft, it's ultimately saving me money!

Let both do well, make your choice, and if you're happy with it, great, if you're not, go give the other a try, you never know, you might just like it.

Yeah agree but this part is not true for some of us which recently bought vista but before the trade in period.... I likely won't pay for windoze7 now.....

HOwever, in addition to my original post - I recently got myself an iPhone 3G-S and its fricking awesome.

iTunes sucks.

But the app store doesn't. Holy moly there is some good stuff on there. I tend to use the iPhone to download it though and not iTunes - much quicker.

Yeah, I always find iTunes pretty slow on my pc which is a little bizarre as it does discourage me from browsing stuff to buy!

I love my 3g iPhone, I've had a few crashes but the biggest annoyance was an OS upgrade that trashed the phone first time ... after which I found that iTunes hadn't backed up the phone before applying the upgrade despite having all the always backup my phone automatically!! Needless to say I ignore any new upgrade to start with, back up the phone manually and then apply the upgrade!

By any chance does the new 3G-S allow you to download stuff greater than 10 megs? I hate when I run into that and then have to wait to download it from my computer.
