OH! I forgot... I use a TC-80N3 remote release on my 40D almost always. I really need it. I have a third party one for my old Rebel XT that works OK and was A LOT CHEAPER. Does anybody know if there is a PDF manual for the Canon TC-80N3 remote? I lost mine someplace.

Oops, I meant the D40. I wish it WERE a 40D...

D40 does have mirror lockup but the only way to release it is to turn the camera off, so its only use is for cleaning.

Oh...you need to check out ALZO Digital!!!!

They are a 3rd party maker for a lot of things, one being remote triggers. I bought one for my Canon 20D for only $60 or something like that from Amazon. WORKS PERFECTLY and a lot less expensive.

The link above mentions the D40. But, check out their site thoroughly for your needs. They do support both Canon and Nikon products.

LOL - I use mine whenever I can find it! I lost the wireless within two weeks of purchase.

Finally, after much experimentation, for the wired one, I found a large envelope that used
to contain a filter. I've had the wired remote for a couple of years now.
It sure does make a difference.
