Audi has the rear quarter window behind the door; this car has the rear quarter window IN the door...

I love this!!! LOL!!!

There was a time when just the silhouette of a car was enough for me to identify it......now I'm baffled with this much info! LOL!!!

Can anyone run this plate through California DMV?

The grille looks a lot like Pontiac to me. Same frame and body as Chevy Cobalt, maybe?

I am seconding the Chevy Colbalt, to me it has the look of the pontiac G5, or G6. Seeing the G6 was one of pontiacs better selling cars I would think that they are trying to keep it going by re-introducing it as a NEW GM vechicle.

You could try calling the Police and ask them if they could run a tag check and let you know the year and make of the car. If they ask you why tell them you are interested in buying the car and want to make sure it is not stolen.

Running the plate would not help I bet, especially if it is a dealer tag. Dealers get a bunch of tags and apply them to a car as needed - no registration. Plus I believe the DST designation indicates a special class of tag. Running the plate would just get you the address of the company who obtained it - but not the car info. And the place it was issued to would not necessarily tell you what kind of car as in manufacturer since it could be any number of test facilities/labs/prototype farms. You never know what is being tested on the car - runability, mechanical/electronic systems, special accessories, etc.

That's true, but you at least have a chance that it's registered to a manufacturer, or a company that's a known outsource supplier.

Which is more than the specualtion we have now!

LOL!!!

Just asked round the office and had Honda, Toyota and Ford suggested! LOL

Just saw a picture of the new Hyundai model - Genesis. Looks a lot like that too. So many cars look alike these days with just very subtle differences. People at work have all asked what my new car is - Saab, Honda among others, when it is a Ford. No one asked if it was a Ford.

I thought so, too, but then realized the cross pattern is part of the black cover. The body is similar to the Chevy Volt, but the windows are wrong. The color and rear end don't make sense for Audi, but the third light could be part of the cover. The back end definitely reminds me of Nissan/Infiniti. This is a tough one!

On the original of the second shot you wouldn't be lucky enough to have an emblem on the front wheel? the center looks different than the other three I can see and wonder if someone forgot to remove something. Just a try...

It's called the stimulus and it was made by the newly formed US Gov't motor company. :)

Found the exact same car! It's a 2010 Suzuki Kizashi:

So, I hope that cleared it up. It's maybea VW Jetta, Nissan Sentra, Saab, Renault, some Japanese car, Audi A4, Honda Civic, Hyundai, Saturn, Chevy Cobalt, Pontiac, Toyota, Ford or Infiniti. And with the last one, maybe GM.
Guess I was 30 seconds late. Suzuki Kizashi?

Not knowing too much this could sound silly, but instead of focusing on the body design (which could be a major change from an existing model), what about the details. Car companies are likely companies of habit. What manufacturers use things like recessed door handles? yellow front driver lights? brake lights with inset reverse lights? The exhaust ports may be something good to use too.

It's actually amazing how nondescript a car is when you cover the front and back up. Do you have any other pictures you can get a glimpse of anything unique on the inside?

More like Shaggy. The car sure got tamed down from the concept cars shown in that link. It looks like any other compact car now.

Well done! Once I 'Google Image' that car - all sorts of other corroborating evidence comes up:

Haha I wondered that too!

Well, the exhaust are very similar to those used by Honda, so I would put a small bet on it being the new Honda bio fuel model.

Then again, it could be any make:))

"DST" on California license plates stand for "Distributor". "MFR" = Manufacturer, and "DSM" = Dismantler

Just looked at an enlarged view of the OS front wheel and if I am not mistaken, that is a Renault emblem!

I wonder why the concept models never really look like the real thing. It's a shame as the concept models shown are very cool and futuristic looking. :-(
