Low priority nitpick.

Is there anyway to tell whether the thread has been 'reversed' or not other than just trying to ascertain the flow of the conversation? Even when it's reversed, the numbers at the top say "displaying 1-20 of 50" I think...It might be beneficial to have it written as 50-30 or something, so people can know that they're reading the last post first. At least us easily confused ones :-)

Relatedly, I think the way it works now is if you reverse a thread, then you reverse all threads you look at til you click the reverse button again, at which point they all become unreversed. For me at least, the way I read the forums, is to read a thread from the beginning on down, then come back later and reverse it if there are new contributions. This is beginning to add up to a lot of reversing. So I think it might be more useful for the reverse-ness to be saved by thread rather than by user.

Of course, I have no idea how feasible or complicated that is to implement....

At the moment, what SHOULD happen but isn't fixed yet, is that if you reverse a thread, and then leave the forum, the next thread you visit should be back in the correct order. At the moment it is not but this will be the case once D&L fix it :)

The reverse feature is at times helpful; at other times it's a little confusing and you have to look at dates and times to understand the context.

I haven't looked too much into this but I thought with preferences you could set the reverse for all threads. On individual forums you could then click reverse to un-reverse for that particular thread only.

The best solution is what i saw on another forum website recently. It has a feature on top of the thread that you can click on to GO TO THE FIRST UNREAD POST.

I like the way it is. I clicked "reverse" in my preferences, and all the threads are reversed, just like on the old site. If something looks strange, I look at the time stamp, but it's always in new post first order. I like it that way.

Forum reversing usually works... there's a little bug I have to get out. I'm half-moving today, so I may not have time to code for the site, but I've got a plan for trying to implement some type of 'posts since your last visit' option. Stay tuned :)

Hey, Drew, you guys take it easy, okay, and take some time off to relax! This is a demanding, b!tching crowd, don't ya know? :)

However, another refinement I suggest for your consideration once you return from some well-deserved R&R. Whatever route you end up taking, Reverse or Go To First New Post Since Your Last Visit (I prefer this one), it would be nice to have as a preference to always have shown first the very first post of a thread. Reason being is that some threads have a tendency to go badly off topic (Nooooo, that never happens!). I have been in reverse in a lenghty thread and then had to scroll and fiddle back to the very beginning to figure out what the heck the thread was supposed to be all about.

Just throw this suggestion out for your coding delights :)
