Hi everyone.
I am interested in everyones favourite way of cleaning lenses and filters.
I have just returned from a bit of an adventure holiday. Took a heap of photos but my filters are very grubby and so are the lenses.
Dirt
Sand
Salt water
I need to give all my equipment a good clean.

| If you got sand, DON'T rub anything on it. Use air first even if it's just blowing on it. You gotta get all the grains off before you run anything on or you'll scratch things all up. Maybe not the glass, but possibly the coatings. |

I like to use a good 800-grit silicon-carbide wet-dry sandpaper. Use it in a circular motion with a little water. Takes those pesky spots right off.
I never tried DrAchoo's sand blasting method. It should work okay though.
If all else fails, try Pec-Pads and Eclipse.

| I found out the hard way with a filter. The sand was not on the glass, but rather on the edge. I was more interested in cleaning the glass so I wiped it with a cloth, but in doing so a grain or two dislodged and got trapped under the cloth. The result was a small but real scratch in the multi-coating. I learned my lesson after that to take sand seriously. |
