Yes and no, if you look at my site or some of my older photos. I can do it, but I am lacking inspiration and motivation.

I been doing too many event jobs that don't allow me to explore my creativity. Or challenge me in a sense to push myself anymore.

This is why I re-joined DPC, I know I can do it. I just feel like I am starting from square one again.
And that sucks.

anyone else?
I would like you advice.

I see I gave the footwear entry a 5, but I also didn't get the title.

I don't take it too seriously either, as you can tell from my own sub-fiver in the same challenge.

Not quite sure what to make of the other two shots, they have some interest, but both leave me scratching my head. I'm actually at a loss for giving you some real feedback.

So, I need to try to match my title to the photo better. That's a start, now what else.

Lots of us have done the (apparently) getting worse bit. Starting from square one may not be as bad as you think.

You have some nice shots on your web page...

(Those are some serious AirSoft players; Roller Derby would be fun to shoot too!)

I left a comment on the footwear photo.

Lacking inspiration. NO!! This is inspired.

And there is no sarcasm in that comment whatsoever. I think what you're experiencing is your subconscious realizing you want to think outside the box (or at least the DPC box) forget about scores, forget about everything else and just create.

He is correct. OOTB approaches will frequently garner low average scores. Sometimes you have to enter something knowing it is aimed at a limited audience and everyone else will punish it with low votes. The thing to do is to evaluate the comments and the voting breakdown, compare them against your own assessment of your entry and decide for yourself if it was lacking or if it hit the intended audience.

I have my own collection of entries like that.
