Several mounting techniques
Regular scotch tape can damage the print over time for sure. I use the hinged mount board/mat, and t-mount the print. I was dry mounting when I first started out, but soon learned that most pros were hinge mounting, because over time, a dry mount print can bubble, crack, bend, etc. because there is no way for it to move with temp, humidity, etc. changes. Hinge mounting allows the print to move freely. Also very easy to change matting if desired. For instance, at a show someone says "I like this print, but I don't like the mat it is in." "Well, what mat do you like?" "I like this white one." "Give me 10 minutes and you can have it with white!" :-) |
