While it makes the point, I think the tone would only aggrevate the situation. No one likes to be threatened (which I believe it does) and cops are especially touchy in that arena. I think they'd see it as a challenge. |

Awesome. I love that card. I was detained and removed with the threat of arrest at a fire scene once while taking photos. The irony was that my fire chief told stopped the officer and told him who I was and he still threatened me with arrest if I didn't proceed behind his yellow tape. |

Interesting story. 5' 11" is threatening? Wow. Now I don't know stone from scone so was this chap super heavy?
Like 350 pounds? Maybe the officer thought he might fall on him/her. LOL
With respect to being stopped by unidentified officers... if they are unidentified, they are not officers. I would have quickly told the UNID assholes to FOAD or I might just decide to trip and fall on them. Now for properly ID'd officers I would quickly identify myself and let them see my images if they wanted. I've done this the several times I've interfaced with law enforcement while I was out and and about.
With respect to photographing police officers... if they don't wish to be photographed, then a law, voted on by representatives, should be passed and signed to that effect. Otherwise they have no more right to privacy from photography than any other citizen.
Of course I live in the US and realize that peeps in the UK don't have as many freedoms as I.
5' 11" is tall? Wow, I guess I'll never be able to visit jolly ol'England. They'd never let me off the plane! :) |

A "stone" is 14 lbs. So the shooter's 5'11", 168 lbs...

Wow being 5 inches and 30lb heavier than that, I am surprised they didn't outright tackle me when I visited London. :-) |
