I haven't been very active lately but I took a quick trip down to the Oregon Coast yesterday and am feverishly going through and editing the photos I like. Here's two versions of one that I'm pleased with. I'd love any comments or critiques.
Sentinel I
Sentinel II
Whatcha think?

I would have climbed over the fence and angled so I could see a bit of shoreline in the BG, but you may have scared them off. Needs more contrast. I love the Oregon coast, hope to see more from you. |

I think I prefer the color version ... I'd maybe take off a little of the top sky to put the horizon nearer the top 1/3 line, get closer to a 3:2 ratio, and focus more attention on the birds.
I'd also call attention to the empty post using the title, as the "missing" bird is a prominent feature ... maybe "Odd Bird Out" or "Missing Inaction" (pun intentional, sorry) or something like that.
I was up that way last Summer ... you get some beautiful bright but soft light, and lots of hungry gulls willing to pose for food ...

Wonderful capture...if the sky had been kinder to you (more dramatic)the picture was made. |
