My parent̢۪s 50th wedding anniversary is next month, and I̢۪m trying to come up with some gift ideas. The traditional gift is something gold, and I would like to get them something nice, but I have no ideas for something gold. There are a lot of intelligent and creative people here, so I thought this might be a good place to get some ideas. Anybody care to make a suggestion?

How about a nice sunset or a sepia-toned portrait (of them?) in a nice gold frame? |

That would be a great idea, if I knew someone that could take a good portrait photo. :)
Seriously, that's a good idea. Thanks General.
Anyone else?

If I was married 50 years I would pretty much have everything I would ever want. I think a big gift would be to much. If you have kids, have them make a book, calender, or something homemade that talks about grandma and grandpa. Older folks just adore that stuff. If you have older kids, help them make a bird house to put in their yard.
Good luck with your search.
If all else fails, get them a gift certificate. :-))

If you have plenty of pictures how about a video/dvd diary of their married life.
Using music backgrounds and photographs or even movie clips! they can be a wonderful gift.
I use movie maker and digital plus, the results using transitions can be very good. |

If you know someone who sews, you can transfer photos of them throughout their life, their kids, grandkids, first car or house, etc. onto photo transfer paper, iron them on to whit cotton fabric, and make a picture quilt. Very easy to do, I could probably give instructions, depends on how much time you have to get it done. good luck. |

I have until the 23rd, unfortunately, between now and then I have about zero hours of free time. Thanks for the very nice idea though.
