Or just make sure they're attractive in the first place!

If you think that's interesting, you should check out sperm competition and specifically the various techniques that have been used by varying types of sperm to increase their chances of success. Some even utilize "attack" sperm that seek out sperm from other donors and try to prevent their success. Interesting stuff.
