Thank you for this post, and for the comment... what you said is very much the way it is for all of us, I think. I cannot help but feel a strong sense of dread when I do visit my grandmother, because I know she will be confused, she will forget who I am or that I'm there, and that she'll repeatedly say she wants to go home, because she doesn't know where she is. It's not an easy situation to handle at all.

I wish I could've captured a more pleasant emotion! Sometimes photographers have to be bringers of doom, I suppose. :) But I'm glad at least that I did manage in this case to reach someone on an emotional level with one of my photos.

Mocabela , beautiful & emotional photo & post as well ! I lost my mother to Alzheimers in October so I do understand . I,m heading out to catch sunrise in Sedona right now but tomorrow night I'm gonna put up a MOM folder on Pbase , I think my family would appreciate that . Thank You ! Kevin
