Hi... ok i have a D90 and eight lenses that I frequently change... my sensor always gets dusty, but the self cleaning (vibrating) sensor and a hand sized squeeze blower brush always seems to do it... BUT now there is some dust that won't come off with my hand sized blower brush, but it looks like it should just blow off... it's just sitting there on the sensor and won't budge... I asked Nikon and they said it would be $90!!!
is there some other better way to blow that dust off of there without risking wrecking my sensor???
help =)
thanks... I need a better solution as this is something that may happen again in the future...

Copperhill Method Tutorial. Very popular method, the one I use. Will cost you some money to get started though, once you have the kit you should be golden.
DrAchoo and a few others I believe use a certain scotch tape and lightly touch the sensor to pick up dust. I am not sure of the specifics of this though, maybe someone else will chime in.
I believe doing either of these voids the warranty, as Nikon wants a trained individual to do this. Hope this gets helps get you started.

I'm a fan of the arctic butterfly myself. //www.visibledust.com/
I have the SL 700 myself and the sensor loupe. You spin the brush on the butterfly to statically charge it then wipe it across the sensor to pick up the dust specks. You spin it again to clean the brush itself. The loupe is handy to see the dust specks.

That is odd, it works for me, It is worth googling "copperhill method". It has a tutorial for you to follow, it has gotten rid of all my dust issues. |
