I was going to post this in the hardware thread, but not discussing still image cameras. Was watching a documentary on Panavision and their "Genesis Camera" which is slowly taking over Hollywood.

After reading about the complaints surrounding digital pioneer, Micheal Mann and his new film "Public Enemies" I saw the documentary to find out if this camera is really superior to their film cameras. There is speculation that this new Public Enemies film looks terrible on screen, with very low quality grainy shots especially in the night scenes. However, after watching this documentary, Panavision discusses the advantages of the Genesis Camera over their film cameras and I was surprised to hear what they said. I don't know if they were telling the truth, or not; I did notice high grain in some of the films the camera was used for.
