I just picked up a copy of PSE, as I had a coupon to get it for only $50. I am curious how it actually compares to PaintShop Pro, which sells in the same price range and it what I have been using. If any are interested, I will make this thread into a log of what I learn and how they compare.

First thing I noticed is I don't have a customizable button bar across the top, like I have in PSP. There may be a way of doing this that I have not learned of yet. If I can't do that with my favorite adjustments, I expect I will get familiar with some keyboard commands.

One thing that I didn't like was I can't zoom in/out with the +- keys on the numeric keypad. I have to use the ctrl key in conjunction with them to do it. Minor difference there.

The clone tool seems to work well, and I like being able to use the bracket keys to instantly make my chosen tool larger or smaller.

I knew PSE does not have built in curves. I have a free plugin I can add for that.

So far so good, but nothing to make me switch yet.

I'd swear you mentioned the thing about Brush size (PSP doesn't use [ ] ) ... but now I don't see it.

or you remembered in PSP it is:

To increase brush size by 1 pixel, hold down the ALT key and press C.
To increase brush size by 20 pixels, hold down SHIFT + ALT and press C.
To decrease brush size by 1 pixel, hold down ALT, and press X.
To decrease brush size by 20 pixels, hold down SHIFT + ALT and press X

:)
