I was the photographer at a fundraiser event last week that enabled me to meet, shoot, talk with and laugh with one of my all-time favorite ball players, Sean Casey. Casey is a former Cincinnati Reds player and also played for the Pirates, Tigers and Red Sox before retiring to work with the MLB Television Network this year. The event was in connection with a local team I shoot, the Hamilton Joes. They play in a colligiate level league and this is their first year.

Casey has a reputation as the nicest player in the game, and he exceeded that reputation. Funny, funny guy - always willing the chat. I had my few minutes as a fan when he signed my jersey and he gave me the address (his home address) to send some photos for signing later. Here are a few shots. First one is with me :) I'm a big time Reds fan, so this was a real treat for me.

And with the owner and manager of the team along with Kim Nuxall who is the son of the late beloved Reds player and announcer from our area, Joe Nuxall - the team is named in his honor.

Way to go, Judy! It's always great to hear that a celebrity really is a nice, personable person to regular folks like us. :-)
