.....in the booming megalopolis of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, no less!
He was in town on tour with his new book Ancient Marks and his exhibit is at the Susquehanna Art Museum through September.
It was fascinating to listen to a man of his distinction, and experience, talk with reverence and awe of the world he's seen, and how much he obviously loves the world.
He was very real, a kind, quiet, soft-spoken man of incredible talent and vision, yet in a few minutes, he had established a connection in the small, but packed room where he gave his talk.
I felt, and saw the amazing journey through his spectacular imagery, and he really inspired, and encouraged me through sharing the way he views things becauise of what hes been a part of through his work.
It's hard for me to talk about how unbelievably inspiring he was to this photographer who returned from his own trip from Honduras completely changed. I had been somewhat troubled by the experience, and in the course of an afternoon, hearing how another person could be so profoundly changed by an experience that he became a part of made me feel so alive and real.
He's just a truly terrific guy.
Oh, and his images are freakin' spectacular!!!!
