Shot a great beach wedding yesterday in Ponte Vedra, FL. Despite some rain and heavy cloud coverage, I think we got some great shots. Here are a few early favs (still sortig through memory cards). Would love your thoughts. :D

I always like it when you get that golden light coming in under the clouds, and the clouds make a far more interesting BG than a plain sky, though that takes a bit of emphasis away from the paricipants in the group shots. |

Very nice work!
And you did luck out. The weather was really terrible a lot of the day! |

It was terrible indeed, Sam. We had a tornado warning just an hour before the ceremony. But we did get lucky, rain stopped through ceremony and MOST of the cocktail hour (shooting time). Bride and groom didn't get many shots alone though because rain started up again. Still a good day.
Paul, I totally agree about the dramatic sky distracting a from the groups, but I couldn't change that (lol). And yeah, I think a dramatic sky is sooooo much more interesting than a plain blue one, so I'm still pleased with the look. We couldn't have had better light if I'd called God to ask for it. ;)

Really nice work Cindi - these are great. I just wonder what was going on with the sand in front of big pic you posted. Was that pink stripe due to the red tide? ;-) |

I actually think the dramatic sky add an element of power to the group shots. Such an awe inspiring look to a beautiful day. |

Oh I prefer the dramatic skies too, but it makes the group photo more like a stock photo of some happy people on the beach rather than a personal memento of the specific event with the individuals more identifiable. I guess it's really as much a function of the wide-angle nature of the shot as the skies ... I wasn't complaining! :-) |
