see the Picnik online photo editor has a nice simple duotone mode under "create"
You just upload your image and click on "create" then scroll down to duotone. You can select any 2 colors and play around with it till you get what you like. Check it out here: //www.picnik.com/

Photoshop works in a similar way. If you go under image and select mode, you can click duotone and pick any two colors.

I should have mentioned...this is for those of us like myself who don't have photoshop. ( Don't know if there are many who don't :-)

Photoshop has Duotone; by I do it in a different way. I think it give more robust results.
In Photoshop select the two colors you want, make one closer to white and the other closer to black.

Increase the contrast by 15 to 25 to get more power to the color if you like then save the image.

Once you are done editing your entry image. Under "image" ΓΆ€“ "adjustment" ΓΆ€“ then "match color" and all your colors will be replaced at the correct intensity.

This is how I do it if anyone is interested.

To demonstrate what I mean here are two photos with the same color palette but each done in a different way; the subtle one is by Photoshop's duotone and the other one by the match color method.
