I was excited when searching buy.com to find you could preorder

Sony DVDRW Double-Layer 8.5GB Drive Internal EIDE Combo 8X-DVD+/-R 4X-DVDRW

Thought that was worth mentioning here! I have a DVD+R and a DVD-R/RAM burner, and I was thinking about buying a combo unit, but now I know I'll be buying another soon!

Yeah, prices have really been coming down on this kind of stuff. I have a DVDRW in my laptop but think I'm going to wait until later in the year for the first of the high density drives (blue light?) to come out. Those should be sporting disks in the 20GB+ range... I think there are a couple on sale already depending on your market too...

They're making DVDRs that'll take 20Gigabytes? That's astounding

Yeah, the technology has been a few years coming but it is finally starting to trickle down to the end user.
