I don't have much experience with portraits and lighting and am seeking feedback on how I lit this.

Main light to right slightly behind girl and fill from camera?

Are you asking for how well lit it is or for people to work out how you lit the scene?

ETA:
If it's about how well, then:

It's not bad but could be better IMO, the light to the right is too low causing a weird shadow from her nose which runs across her cheek, it also is a small light source as the shadow looks hard to me so some diffusion would have helped with that. It also would have helped to have either another light slightly camera left or over your head to act as a fill light (to reduce those shadows from the nose and mouth area, or a reflector used to do the same job.

If it's how you lit it, I'd guess at a small light source possibly bare flash camera right squareish to the girl, at about level to or just below her head. Not getting a good idea of what natural light was available but you might have got better results if only one flash was available by positioning the models better so that the natural light acted as your fill light.

Did you do much PP on this? It seems like either they have amazing skin or it's been heavily PP'd, the tree trunk looks a little funky but that could be natural blur I guess.

Mark

a fill or a reflector from the camera left should mitigate some of the shadows.

i have to agree with the post-processing. it seems overly done.

Thanks guys- that's exactly what I was looking for. I'm new to using lights.

I didn't use umbrellas because it was a bit windy that day, but it sounds like they would have helped. I also only used the one light. As for PP I did do a layer of Topaz Clean which I should probably back off a bit.
