I love these pictures, how were they created? Tone mapping using some software, or just different exposures and masking in photoshop? Filters?

Got some nice shots there, he does. A lot of them look like they are expertly-rendered HDR images, but subtle enough that it's hard to say how it was done. A bunch of 'em look like just really meticulous PS work could accomplish it, maybe manual blending of different exposures even. It's really hard to say without seeing originals. They do NOT show the hallmarks of aggressive tone mapping, that's for sure.

That is the best kind of HDR, IMO. I am still trying to learn how to get that subtle wow factor. I'll be learning for a long time yet! |

You betcha. It's even my goal as well, though I also enjoy the "effect" in its own right, when it's well done.
