The bracket is by far the best of the lot, even better than your entry, IMHO.

| The one with the wood and the nails is the best. The chain photo is good but I didn“t really like none of those "all rust" photos. The problem with the Rust challenge is that most of the pics looked the same to me. You might not have got scored as high with the other pic but in my oppinion it shows more style than the one you submitted. |

I agree with orussell, but I would crop it in a square. We had a lot of chains in the Rust challenge. Your chain was pretty well done. Could you make one more link sharper?

I can sympathise with you on this Paul..as I was having similar problems trying to decide from a number of different type shots.
Among my choices was a chain link picture but I figured there might be a few in the challenge..so ruled it out.
It`s for this reason that I go with the "Bracket" image as the one which would have scored higher if entered...although the "link" shot was very good and should have finished higher(IMO), it probably suffered as a result of the number of similar shots that were submitted.

I didn't realise myself Gordon, there were quite a few chain pics.
Artur here is one I rejected, I wanted just part of the image in focus so I went for the one I submitted.
Thanks everyone for your comments, I may be improving slowly as a photographer but picking the right image seems to be the hardest thing :) |

Very true...another annoying thing is when you find a subject AFTER the challenge that might have been just what you were looking for.

Now that is a nice rust shot... a good luck find and some bad luck in the timing |

| This would have been an excellent entry, sod's law I'm afraid Gordon. At least it's a good addition to your portfolio. |

Funny how that is, 1050 was my least favorite one. Thanks for your comment. I by far liked your entry the best of your shots.

I like this one because of the interesting use of the rusted out hulk to frame the landscape. The only thing I would have suggested was moving over just a tad so that the stone building was fully in the frame.

Paul, I like the photo you submited more; better composition and, the background is not distracting.
Sometimes it is easier to compare the pictures when you have them side by side.

Melissa, I hadn't noticed what you said about the building and I agree with your comment,
Thanks all, again. |
