Hi, I'm wondering if a hardware color calibration tool will work on a LCD with very poor color accuracy. I have a Dell 2208FP that I'd love to use for some lightweight photo and design work, but the color is very off when compared with my MacBook Pro LCD.

I'm looking at these 2 solutions:
i1Basic: //www.xrite.com/product_overview.aspx?id=1161
or Pantone Huey: //www.xrite.com/product_overview.aspx?id=756

Would this suffice? Or do I really need an LCD with better baseline quality.

Oh-- and I understand I will never fix problems like color shift / viewing angles with a solution like this. I'm just looking for something.. "good enough"..

Thanks!
