Hi there,
Just wanted to say a quick Hello. My name is Jazz and I am currently in Manchester, UK working in Software Development.
I have taken pictures before but I was exceptionall bad infact still am. I would like to learn more and share what little knowledge I have. My previous Jobs had me doing website design for Large Travel Companys so i spent a good few years post processing many of the online travel brochure images etc.
I would like to become a better photographer.
Get a better eye for it as every picture i take seems to lack any kind of lustre and when anyone else come along there perspective and shot looks infinitely better :)
I have D60 with a Standard Lens and I also have a Manfrotto Modo Tripod which is a total godsend.
Apart from this I quit smoking last year and try to get healthy again so I run and starting to learn Parkour.
Anyway just wanted to say hi to everyone. |

| Hi Jazz - welcome to DPC. There is a pretty strong sense of community here, with a suprisingly large British contingent. It is a great place to challenge yourself and push your photography. Looking forward to seeing some challenge entries from you, and perhaps even meeting you at a future GTG, which we do have from time to time. |

Wow, parkour is quite the departure from smoking. What an interesting thing to take up in its place.
Anyway, welcome to the community and goodluck/congrats on quitting smoking!
Also, if you're a bit hesitant to jump right into the judged challenges, there are a plethora of side challenges available right now that are way more laid back.
Here's a thread with a list of current side challenges, if you're interested.
