Will the Sunpak PZ 5000AF which was purchased for my Nikon F80 also work with the Canon 10D? |

It won't use Canon's E-TTL flash metering at all, but it should work in "auto" mode where the flash fires, and then shuts off when the thyristor on the front of the flash detects enough light has "bounced back". This may be adequate depending on the type of shooting you do. Canon's Speedlite's do not have the auto-thyistor mode at all, and some photographers prefer it to E-TTL... |

I use an old Sunpak 544 flash with my 10D (using PC synch connection). Works fine. The "auto thyristor" mode works reasonably well, and even works with this flash when the head is tilted off axis for bounce (the sensor continues to face forward).
At some point I may upgrade to 550EX, but the Sunpak fills my needs at the moment.
