Hi everyone,
I got a new toy, Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di for Nikon. I went out for a couple hours shooting with it. I'm liking it. I think this will be a new walk around lens for me.

The only "cons" so far (less than 100 shots) is that the wide is only 28mm (but I'll just have to use the ole legs a little more). I'm thinking wide open at 2.8, it's a little soft. Anyone else thinking that too? Otherwise it seems darn crisp. I read other people's thoughts about it and most people had positive things to say about it, so I took the plunge.

I focused on the nose of the middle boat.

Nice, You'll enjoy the speed of the 2.8 for sure. 28 isn't that wide, but it is a good range. I use my 28-135 as a walk around and I usually don't have too much of a problem. Have fun.

Yeah the 28-75 is designed as a full frame lens. You could have gotten the digital only equivalent (Tamron 17-50 f/2.8) which would give you a wider FOV, but hey. Whatever makes you happy. :]
