Ahh that's annoying isn't it?!

You're waiting... you're ready to press all the right buttons... you're lining everything up... then bang, you release too soon and you just end up with a mess rather than a great result.

A good way to stop it is to keep your fingers away from there until they're really necessary.

Many thanks for the advice...I'll keep the boxing gloves on til the last minute froponm nnnow09 ooooomm. BBBlloooddydy ggluubbbss!

Great Tutorial... I've never even thought of using a simple desk lamp for lighting... this advice could be used in many more scenarios :) My pictures will be much brighter now... I was just using available light since I didn't have money for equipment!

Only problem is adjusting white balance correctly. A little touch up in PS
would help.

Yes, I guess the part about the White Balance was helpful to me too! I am a total beginner. Until I came to this site, they only thing I knew about my camera was put it on auto and click the button... sometimes I'd even zoom :)

I just learned how to change my camera to sepia and was so excited about that... I just had to use it! Now I must play with the white balance. I'm realizing that my submission for Mechanical could've been much better had I known about this ahead of time, There's no more daylight to take my pic now, so I'll just stick with what I have and move on with my new found knowledge :)

Thanx!

Wow! You're speedy. Just registered today, then read the tutorial, processed the image, including the copyright notice - then posted to a forum thread. :D

I like the technique - you've produced a nice heart shape. The book isn't the best choice IMO for this effort.

BTW - Some nice photos at the website your photo resides on, although I can't read arabic, the photo's speak for themselves. :)
