I'm looking for a new bag and have decided on a backpack style. I headed down to the local camera shop with the Lowepro Fastpack 250 in mind, but seeing it in person, I wasn't quite as happy as I thought I'd be. The Kata DR-465 caught my eye and felt really comfortable. Online, I'm seeing that the Kata 467 is pretty highly rated. I don't really have a high need for being able to carry a laptop, but it would be nice to have that option in the future. Aside from the laptop pocket, is the capacity of the Kata 467 any bigger than the 465?

If you have one of these bags, or a backpack that you're really happy with, could you give me some feedback about what works and what doesn't? I like the idea of a low-profile backpack that has room for carrying some of my other things aside from my 40D body, 3 lenses and a speedlite.

I have the 467 and I really like it. The bottom padded section works well, and the padding will come out if you want (I sometimes lift it out and into a canvas messenger bag--instant camera bag!

Between the upper and lower sections, I have, on occasion, been able to squeeze two bodies with lenses, plus a third lens. But a single body, 3 lenses, and a speedlight should be no problem at all. The zipper pockets on the back work great for batteries and such.

I use the laptop section to carry straps, folded reflectors, battery chargers (if on travel) so it is a very flexible bag.

I used it to take a d80 w/battery grip with 18-200mm zoom, a canon g10, a gps, a portable dvd player and noise reduction headphones, batteries, a kindle, and a laptop on a trip to the UK.

Just realised, I think this is the bag I bought only 10 days ago (@ work so can't check the actual model, but it's definitely a Kata 46 something and includes a laptop section). So far, I am very happy with it. I have managed to get all I need in it. I also find it quite comfortable to carry, unlike some others I have had.
