| I have a Canon 50D, a 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM,....and a 50mm f/1.8. I shoot parties and portraits. I just broke a Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8. With all that said, WHAT LENS SHOULD I BUY NEXT? I usually make good decisions, but I'm stuck on this one. I need insight on what to replace it with...17-55, 24-70,or 70-200... help! |

| i personally would buy the 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L, which is something for which i am currently saving. it's a bit more than 1000 though |

I am loving the Tamron 18-270 one
it is so sharp you could cut yourself. I got it to replace the kit lens. Best lens I have now |

Do you find the 24-105 offers a wide enough angle? If not, perhaps swap it for the 17-55, and then buy the 70-200. I rented the 17-55 a couple of times. It's the perfect walk around lens for a crop factor camera. If I was certain that I'd stick to a crop DSLR for my next purchase I'd definitely get it. It has IS and f2.8. Bulkier than some lenses with similar range, but lighter than the 24-70. Though it's not an L many say it behaves like one.

I say it depends on what you like to shoot most. I mean throwing out ideas of what "we" want you to buy because we think something is a good lens isn't going to get you what you need.
My opinion, find out what you like to shoot most, then buy the lens which gives you the FOV and DOF which would work best for your camera and prefered subject.

| I just wanted opinions on what lens is a better buy out of the 3 I'm inquiring about. I value opinions of people who actually used the lenses, as they have on hand expirience with the equipment. I'm spending a grip on it, I like to look before I leap... I thought about the 16-35mm but I am trying to move a lil further from the subjects especially at parties... |
