Noooooooooo! I've been waiting for a good expert challenge, but PLEASE wait a couple of weeks - I'll have time then. I'm right in the middle of selling everything we own, moving us, and getting our house rented out, and doing it all by myself - I can't do any challenges right now...aaaccckkk.

What I would like to know is this:
Mr L, would you care to explain about the expert challenges and why they are far far far in between. What are your reasons for this.
And if he answers, I want a gold star on my profile LOLOLOL |

I think it's a great idea. I would love to see the expert editors work some magic with some before and after photos. Not sure it would do me any good being that my PS skills are still basic. Wouldn't stop me from trying or submitting. |

Forget the gold star - if he answers, buy a bunch of Lottery tickets!!!
I don't like the name "Expert" editing, but fully agree that we should have unlimited editing challenges on a VERY regular basis. |

I wonder if DPC public opinion has changed much. Last time it was asked about (poll) the membership here wasn't in favor of Expert editing challenges.
DPChallenge Poll on Expert editing challenges
Personally, I'm not in favor of them. Too much digital art / collage for me - I prefer photography. |

According to the poll the majority would still like to see expert editing challenges occasionally. |

You do realize that most of the advertising images you see in magazines and on TV is digitally ehanced and manipulated right? :>)
I understand your point of view - and I do appreciate it. However, the whole point of being able to use the tools and demonstrate the skills is what this is all about.
And, photography is art. :>)
Later,

Occasional would be "ok" I suppose. :-)
For those looking for a regular dosage of digital collage work, there's always Worth1000.com. |

I find it interesting that you summized that DPCers did not like Expert Editing based on the previous poll results. I guess statistics can be made to say almost anything, but putting the numbers out there so people can understand them:
17.3% did not like Expert Editing (136 votes)
82.7% did like Expert Editing, at least occasionally as challenges (648 votes) |

Or you could say that only 33% (260 of 784) of respondants liked expert editing challenges enough to see them on a regular basis, while the other 67% (524 of 784) of respondants could take 'em or leave 'em. :-)
And if you want the "real" numbers - don't believe what any of us say. Just look at the poll results (linked) for yourself. :-D |

Perhaps at least a couple times a year and side challenges?
