See if there is a software download for CS4 that will make it compatible.

Are you shooting in RAW? I had a problem early on when my camera was still a new model where no software seemed to recognise it's .PEF RAW files. Maybe you've got something similar going on??

yeh its raw, but its CR2 not PEF. and i downloaded the new adobe update but it still doesnt work. im supposed to be shooting a big track meet and i dont know whether or not i should just use the new camera and hope for the best:/

yes it did help, thanks. but when i checked the pluggins it didnt have the 5.2 version of camera raw even though i downloaded it. is there aome special way i should save it when it downloads?

I have a 5D MK II and CS4 and I thought that ACR 5.3 was needed. Even with that version check that you are shooting in RAW and not sRAW which doesn't seem to be readable. It is difficult to see why you would want to use those modes unless you have small CF cards.

When I updated mine, I did it via the Adobe Updater utility; which I first had to update! Not through the managing of plugins. Try using that utility and I'm sure everything will be OK in about 10 minutes flat.

I had the same problem with my new D700, I had to purchase an upgrade to lightroom 2 in order to view files, and adobe camera raw doesn't read them at all without the update. LR2 does though, which is fine. Just as you think you've spent enough money they hit you for more!
