*singing* it's the final countdownnnnnnnn.....

Good thing the Army Surplus store stays open late, don't know where else I might've found tranquilizer darts this late at night! ;-)

Hey everybody, Susan is awesome and if you ever get the chance, I'm taking this oppertunity to invite each and everyone of you to drop in for a visit. You'll have a great time.

Waiting with bated breath! (so hurry, I don't look good in blue)

Hi everyone!

Well, Max and I are having a fine old time. He has amazing stories to tell and an incredibly funny outlook on life, not to mention a big-ass 200 which I like drooling over! Did some shooting last night in the Limerick Forest on the boardwalk at sunset, then came home and talked til about midnight.

This morning I rode with a client and believe he got some shots of us riding home. Then, after some to-ing and fro-ing, we met up with RayEthier at a nearby osprey's nest. Max got the mama bird flying around screeching at us while we shot. Then I had to run home and get the whatsit so I could charge my battery; I sent Max off with Ray.

Along the way this tiny little Dutch man, Peter, saw us shooting and stopped and offered to take our pictures - so, holding my breath, I set the D40 on auto, framed the shot for him and prayed frantically that he wouldn't drop the camera as it had the 18-200 on it! So he got a couple of cute 'together' shots of us, lol! Later on, we encountered him again, so I got a shot of him to post when I get to it.After awhile we caught up with each other again, and Max and I made it to Merrickville and shot there. On the way home I remembered that Friday nights the local car club has a gathering in a parking lot, so we swung by and got shots of some cool old cars.

The cats were a little shy of Max at first, but Lily is now brazenly flirting with him and Druli has even let Max scratch him behind the ears, which is huge.

OK time for supper, going now!

Right now he's bbq'ing beef shishkabobs that I made earlier today, and I'm doing the filling in cause I know everyone wants to know what's going on!

Ralph, it's okay to be worried.

And Susan, didn't you learn after SSI to always take your charger? :P

Hi all

well it's now 1:30 am and we just got back from shooting with Ralph...that man likes JELLYBEANS in his brownies LOL! We had lots of fun, and learned a lot from Ralph's setup, lights and ten bazillion lenses at his disposal. Then we had tacos with Ralph and his two delightful daughers, Pascal and Sally. They both came downstairs to see what was going on and Max let them see what he'd been shooting all afternoon. Finally we got to meet Ralph's wife, Monica, and chatted awhile before driving home.

Later today we'll go shoot at a local flea market, maybe with RayEthier if he feels up to it. And both Ray and ralph have ideas for shoots in September, so there may well be another snaffles and Quigley gtg!

bye for now kiddies...and yes, Sheila, I know, I know, I now keep my charger in my camera bag and the plug-in thingy for it in my car. So there! ;-p

Asparagus stand?

I'm sure Max will be glad to explain...;-)...once he gets home!

Let me start out by saying that you will most definitely have a GREAT time if you ever get the chance to visit with Susan. Not to mention that lots of things will just sort of just happen

while you're there. I will only speak to the aforementioned asparagus stand for now because I have Ray to corroborate my story.

We, Susan, Ray, and myself were heading out to shoot today. Susan and I had had a conversation the previous day about likes and dislikes pertaining to foods and we got around to

vegetables and the fact that I/we eat a lot of asparagus in our house. Susan was very happy to hear this and offered to take me to a fresh asparagus stand the next morning on our way to

go shooting with Ray. When we finally came upon said stand Susan was so excited, she pulled up, stopped, and jumped out of her car. Now Ray was following us and had pulled in behind

and looked on in surprise that we had just made an unscheduled stop. I answered his query while I was exiting the car and closing the door. All of a sudden, Ray's eyes got very large as

he watched Susan's car start to roll away down the hill, it would appear that my chauffeur forgot to pull on her emergency brake. Ray yelled "UMMMMMM...HER CAR'S ROLLING AWAY!!!" to which

I replied "SHIT" and a short chase ensued. I caught up to the car really fast as it was moving slow and jumped inside and engaged the emergency brake.

When I went over to get some asparagus, Susan was looking in the fridge where it's kept and I asked her if she was watching things unfold and she said that she was and when she saw that I

had things under control because she saw me jump into the car she went back about her business.

What a trusting soul. You too can have adventures like this just by visiting Susan :)

We had a blast :)

Thank you Susan I had a most wonderful time and I look forward to doing it again sometime soon :) Even chasing your car again if I have to :)

MAX!

...YES INDEED, that is exactly what happened. Good thing MAX was there because, had things depended on me, her car would have ended down in the ravine and we would have some nice photos of the tow truck dragging her vehicle back up the hill.

It was indeed a wonderful outing albeit my sciatica did seriously limit my participation. I look forward to our next outing which I believe might be in the fall.

Just send Snafflesa message...her and her beau Magnumphotography get around the Ottawa area quite a bit, and with a bit of heads up I know I could be available.

More than one is fine too. ;o)

I am planning to be in Ottawa in October so that's why I suggested that.

Ray,

Aren't you lucky. Oz is a wonderful place. A month isn't nearly enough time though.
