... with a studio flash trigger???

If both have synch ports it shouldn't be a problem.

the camera has a sync port, the flash just has the hotshoe connection!

you need a sync to hotshoe adapter - the flash mounts to it like it would to a camera, then you can plug in a PC cord or pocketwizard, etc
