I thought an interesting challenge topic could be beautiful ugly. The aim would be to photograph one subject that was at once beautiful and ugly. There is lot's of room for interpretation here. Some examples that pop into mind are: macros of mold, insects,; beautifully lit garbage; a beautiful person wearing hideous clothes and make-up, etc.

The voters be upset because they would not be able to label the shots as DNMC?
It's a good suggestion. It makes you think about what would fit that category.
