That is exactly what I did, I own no property and have no idea how to work a washing machine, doing dishes physically makes me puke so I used paper plates and plastic forks, but I am happy(and happily married), I have been around the world twice and drive a Ford Fiesta diesel.
My biggest dissapointment to date is being an Arsenal fan.
As far as ShutterPug goes I have no idea who the hell he is |
I love that you follow your heart, your dreams, and pursue happiness!

damn...this thread has been dead for a long time!
I no longer live in Alaska. In September 2010 I moved back to Michigan.
Traverse City, MI is where I found work and plan on staying put here.
I still have three pugs, a miniature schnauzer, and soon a new baby tortoise. I had frogs and torts while in Alaska, but had to re-home them as the 7 day drive was not safe for them.
I no longer work with EMS, but continue to work in Radiology as an xray tech. I like the work I do, but my body is rebelling.
I find myself alone still, as I have through most my life. Some days I love it, but there are other days that the dark loneliness creeps in and consumes me. While I have never liked crowds, not even smaller groups (as I never seem to fit in), I have always wished I had a really good friend; one who would call on me when they need to talk or go hang out...not just me needing them. Being back in MI, I am at least closer to my daughter now which is very important to me.
My favorite foods include Sushi, authentic Mexican, and good old Steak and potatoes.
My favorite activity is to go out on nature walks. Notice I did not say hiking, as my body has too much pain these days to truly hike.
I am neither religious or political. Clowns are totally creepy to me. I find myself intrigued by the psyche of serial killers. I do not fear death, but instead fear living to 100.
So there, I have shared a bit about myself. Carry on....

I'm with you on the fear-of-100 thing, but I'm OK with clowns. I know about the loneliness (do I ever...) but I believe I've lucked into the remedy for that at long last. Perhaps you will too, and not so far down the road.

Welcome back to the lower 48.
Q: If you're scared by the living to 100 thing, why are you getting a baby tortoise?

Welcome back! The loneliness thing sucks. I too have been fortunate but remember long stretches of it, and it was NOT fun. Finding a photo buddy is a really good way of connecting and going about. And it's sort of an independent "togetherness". You meet up, sort of shoot on your own, then get back together to chimp. |

I have appointed my daughter as Tortoise surrogate...she will inherit Henri upon my demise. |

Finding a photo buddy would be great as I would get out more and shoot more. There is an art show going on in town for the next couple weeks. If I can get over to it perhaps I could 'find' a buddy.

I plan on it. Even if I don't find a photo buddy, I want to go see the area photographers works. I didn't find out about the event until the last day of entries and I was at work so I couldn't enter anything myself.
Ok - so a bit more info on me for those who don't know much about me:
(1) I suffer from some sort of sleep disorder. Getting to sleep is sometimes a problem, but staying asleep is the worst part. I wake up approx. every 2 hours during the night. I wake up feeling as though a Mac truck ran me over.
(2) I love frogs and turtles. Both are so cute and amazing to me.
(3) I like individuals, but dislike people in general. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, I would prefer to come back as a frog than a person.
(4) I have headaches daily...have had them for years

Not afraid of clowns, not afraid of living to 100. ( I've met some 100 year olds that had a lot going on, and were pretty spry. )
Am afraid of being trapped in a nonfunctioning body at any age. Not fond of cockroaches. Like frogs and turtles. Little kids are pretty neat too.
A photo-buddy would be cool.
I don't get many headaches, I more often give them. (It is more blessed to give, than to receive.)

No, had to take the garbage to the dumpster which also provided a nice little walk for Beanie (one of the pugs).
Also had to drive to town - took Waldo the schnauzer for a ride. |

I'm not so much afraid of them as I don't trust them so I get that gut feeling that they are evil, hiding behind their makeup, trying to fool the world. John Wayne Gacy merely confirmed what I had already felt as a child whenever I saw a clown.

I started reading this and didn't realize for a while that it was an old thread resurrected. LOL. Everyone kept saying you were living in Alaska and I knew that was wrong (kept throwing me off).
My wife and I think the same way you do...people suck...but individuals can be nice.

yeah, people really stress me out. I really feel that if I lived in a town with only 6 people I would feel much better.

I bet if I lived in a town of only six people (three would be family) I'd not like half of them. |

Hey Pugs, we could always have another Michigan GTG. However, you're not allowed to bring your tripod! We all know you don't use it for it's intended purpose.
