I wanna play Groundhog Day and go back to the beginning. I liked that 8 far better than my current 5.3 :(

I hear you, I loved my 7.5 than 5.9 :( I think I need to go out a bet and leave the update button alone :)

I did my damnedest to get the best shot possible under very demanding circumstances, including not being able to get a satisfactory shot at exact table level. Still, can't complain about the score!

You have rated 97 of 98 images (99%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 97 images (99%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.4845.

Found too many that lost the theme for the challenge with the camera to close to the suject losing the depth of perspective for the challenge, good luck to all...

Ignorance is rampant in the comments I'm receiving. How can one vote intelligently if they don't understand the challenge or lighting?

I was surprised at how many weren't at table level. But it said to put the camera on the table, I guess it didn't say you couldn't put the camera on something that's on the table.

perhaps your image just does not appeal to the masses and your commenters are trying to tell you to the best of their ability why they rated your image in such a fashion. people are always demanding that low votes be justified, maybe they're just holding up their end of the bargain.

maybe there should be a convention added to an image's title to request nobody leave comments. just put a little NCP or something at the end so someone who is not interested in what people have to say doesn't have to deal with it.

You know - that's not a bad idea - maybe something to offer the SC?

If somebody doesn't want comments, hey that's fine by me.

Guys, I think he meant if you leave a comment, at least make it relevant .. like I receive comments sometimes regarding having blur in the picture while it is DOF. I just received a comment about my last entry saying it is not in focus, while it is tack in focus!
Cheers,

Well, I, for one, welcome comments. I prefer that they be constructive and helpful, but I like to have them. Also, just wanted to say that it looks like I may actually make it to 5 on this one. Not sure what that says about my photography skills, but beats 4's.

Going down

65 - 5,6615
66 - 5,6364 = a 4
67 - 5,5970 = a 3

Three nice comments though.

Done.

You have rated 98 of 98 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 98 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 7.6327.

A lot of really excellant work in this challenge - a couple of "tankers" so far outside of the box that it was nigh impossible to rate or comment without being a jerk about it. :>)

Taking a break to work on a challenge entry now.

You may continue with your regularly schduelled programming. :>)

Just received a wonderful comment from Teafran, Tom, you really got me addicted to your wonderful comments, even thought challenges end up not as close to what I expect, but your comments always make it up for me,
Thanks allot,
All the best,

Me too - I've had a number from him now; it must be a ton of work. All very helpful and well written.

He certainly deserves a bunch of credit for his efforts.

nice job guys. a few left me scratching my head a bit. my score distribution is also a little odd, i think i might start keeping a spreadsheet to see my trends. then again, it's been awhile since i've had stats and i don't know if it'll actually mean anything to me.

I am just starting my voting on this one. I am not going to vote anything as dnmc for it...but why are so many shots from a perspective above the table, when the challenge clearly says "set your camera on a table to obtain a different perspective" or something to that effect? Maybe they all have tables that have multiple levels? Oh well, as long as there is lots of table in the shot, or it is shot from table level that is ok by me. I am just surprised by the number of shots that are not taken from table level as the challenge is supposed to be. (before anyone says it ... it does not say "set your camera on a mini tripod set on a table to get a perspective same as in everyday life")

Bear in mind that cropping can distort the view and make it look like the image is taken from a slightly higher view point (granted not a huge difference), but someone with a 1D or any camera with a battery grip will obviously have a slightly higher view point than some with a 350D without grip.

Yeah, I was surprised with some of my shots that they appeared to be higher than tabletop when I knew they weren't, then had a "duhhh" moment when I realised that it wasn't the lens that was at tabletop level but the base of the camera.
