Hey everyone,I have two quick questions. I only have one lens for my Nikon D70. It's a 28 - 120mm zoom. First I'm wondering if I was to get a second lens, what would you suggest as my second (and why). I was thinking about a standard 50mm fixed lens for nice clear crisp shots.

Secondly and more urgent, is about Fisheye lenses. I'm looking at purchasing a filter for my existing lens and I'm wondering if I will be able to create interesting warped images like this //4.bp.blogspot.com/_VKlFLhozf6I/Sc6L_4og1LI/AAAAAAAABPY/u9cr2oCZjVE/s1600-h/josh%2Bkim-1051.jpg

The filter I'm looking at is here: //cgi.ebay.com/Fisheye-0-43x-Wide-Angle-72mm-for-Nikon-lens-24-120mm_W0QQitemZ120357069109QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCamcorder_Lenses?hash=item1c05d72135&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

Thanks for anyone willing to take a quick sec. to look at this for me!

Looks like that particular adapter is not a fisheye adapter. Fisheye adapters do exist, but like pretty much all these e-bay adapters, they are of very dubious optical quality. Fun to experiment with, but lots of optical aberrations. There is one "best" choice in this area, the Nikon 10.5mm fisheye. It's a fabulous lens, but the price may be a stretch.
I think it's a great idea to get a 50mm prime. It will let you experiment with wide apertures (careful, addictive!) and it will produce beautifully crisp images stopped down a little.
Also consider that your 28mm wide end isn't very wide on your camera; at some point you want to consider a zoom that starts in the 10-17mm range. That would compliment your 28-120 well.

Thanks kirbic! So I guess the attachable filters are just a "too good to be true" option? I was hoping to find away around spending $600 for a fisheye and just adapt an existing lens. Thanks for the advice on the 50mm and second zoom lens too!

Well, they do what they are advertised to do... sort of. If you have any desire for quality images, though, they are best left alone ;-)

I'll readily admit I've used a fisheye adapter; there were at the time, and still are, few other options for non-DSLR cameras. Even though the fisheye adapter I used was made by Nikon specifically for my camera, I still found the quality to be only decent. The 3rd party adapters are usually much worse.
