Here's the challenge -- shoot dpc cliches! Ever wanted to try water drops? Here's your chance! sunsets, bees & flowers? Admit it! We've all wanted to do one of these shots, but didn't want to be caught doing it. Here's your chance! Go overboard! Or better yet, see how many cliches you can put in one picture! A wolf staring at a bee going after a flower at sunset, his drool dropping gracefully into a cup of coffee.

Isn't plagiarism of ideas a DPC tradition as well?

I quite like this idea - although it would be a bit biased towards regular ribbon winners methinks. Also the DNMC police would tear anything not earth-shatteringly obvious to pieces (although I suppose that's pretty normal!).

You forgot that the wolf is standing in front of a decrepit old shack at sunset, with dynamic, swoopy clouds overhead.

Perhaps you are referring to these, for example:

~ Fool's Ribbon ~

DPC Clichés

Cliche hell

Landmark cliches

DPC Cliches!

etc.

Dont forget that the northern lights are intermixed in those swoopy clouds and the scene should be at the edge of a lake where the water is so still it reflects like glass...

I was actually busting her chops for getting the idea from an e-mail I sent her, but you are correct, there is what the lawyers call "prior art".

I think this idea is becoming a cliche.

I don't think it's quite plagiarism when I tell you "Oooh!!! Good challenge idea you just had! I have to go post it!" I think prior notification that you're stealing something isn't really stealing :)

There are no new ideas in the world. So I'd like to see this one go live. I'm gonna do a water drop with the round suspended drop being burst by a .222 bullet which will continue on to light a match and burst an apple.

awesome!! I so want to see that!

and for the record -- this was so definitely yo_spiff's idea. It wasn't my intention to pass it off as my own--I just thought it was a cool idea and was in a hurry to get my son to baseball practice, so I wasn't thinking things through when I posted.

I bow to the master idea person!

Actually, I'd really like to see this challenge. I so want to try a water drop, but if it works, I wouldn't have the guts to enter it because of the flack people get! And what's the fun of not entering it if it works? This would give me the excuse I was looking for!
