I'm new here and fairly new to the biz. My question is where can I find contacts on releases and copy rights, and models. Since I'm on a very tight budget and just getting started what would be the right way to go about this.

Google it. You can find examples that others are using. For starting out this would be fine if you tailor it to your business.

If you really take off, you might want a lawyor to write one up just to save your butt if you end up in court.

If you're smart, you'll have whatever you use reviewed by a lawyer. Depending on where you are, language that's valid in a contract in one state can change the meaning of your contract or completely invalidate it.

A good example is the language concerning deposits. In some states, a deposit is always refundable, so if your contract refers to a "non-refundable deposit", a customer wants a refund, you refuse based on your contract and the issue winds up in court; you'll lose.

PPA - Professional Photographers of America. They are a great organization, and I recommend all professional photographers join up. They have all the information you need on contracts, copyright information, and releases, along with lawyers to advise you. I have been a member for 5 years, and have used their legal services several times, they are awesome.
