Hi everyone. I've just printed off a batch of prints using my Canon Pixma Pro 9500 and Ilford Smooth Pearl paper. The colour ones are fine, but anywhere that there's significant black usage there is a huge amount of bronzing. The printer I'm using for larger prints mentioned that there might be a spray that I can use to even it out - does anyone know about this?
Anyone else experienced this problem with that printer BTW? I've been fighting Canon for ages about it, I haven't been able to use any gloss papers including Photo Paper Pro (which Canon swear should be fine, but I know I'm not the only one with this problem). I bought this pack of the Ilford A3+ because I'd managed to find a pack of A4 Ilford Gallerie Gold Fibre that didn't bronze at all, and assumed with the smooth pearl I wouldn't have the problem, but its there, glaring back at me. It looks as though the photo black is shiny, and the matt black is seriously matt, and the printer chooses to use one or the other in blocks depending on the depth of black needed, rather than mixing the two, thus causing the bronzing.
If anyone has already been through this and knows how to fix it, it would be fantastic. Otherwise if anyone has heard of a spray that can be used on top to settle it without losing image quality, I'd love to hear about it! |
