| For noise reduction which one would you choose. I am currenty using a 30 trial of topaz adjust. Is the noise reduction good enough to not have to buy neat image in your opinion. |

| I've been playing with Topaz and finding that the noise reduction is different. It seems to do better in areas with a lot of detail, but in large solid areas of noise (like sky) it creates banding or blotchiness. I've been making several layers and doing the NR on the sky using the built in NR of PaintShop Pro. |

Topaz makes a separate noise reduction program called Topaz Denoise. The noise reduction that's bundled into Topaz Adjust is of limited usefulness. But I've been using Topaz Denoise in preference to Neat Image, and it's working well for me. The key to avoiding blotchiness in skies when using Topaz Adjust is to do noise reduction, usually in the blue channel, before doing the Topaz Adjust layers.

Which is what I have been doing. Using regular NR and often a little Gaussian blur to get the sky smooth before running the Topaz adjsutments. |

You sure you don't have the software confused with that new stripper at your favorite hangout? |

Haha! There's only like one strip joint on the entire Cape and I have never been there... Lovely spelling eh?

Just struck me as a perfect stripper name. |

Oddly enough I just did an experiment on this earlier today. One image used Noise Ninja, the other the Topaz effect in Adjust. It was subtle but I really liked the Noise Ninja better - AND it was way faster. I'd post, but thinking this experiment would never see the time of day again, I dumped both examples.
