I would consider Amazon reputable but a camera shop here local would charge me almost $600 more for the same package?

| it's from Amazon direct not a 3rd party, if you were thinking of buying one and that is the sort of saving you would be making snap at it as I have heard that Amazon are very good at honouring their prices even if they post one in error! |

B&H sells the same package for $1399, so the Amazon price, considering it's a "special", seems reasonable. Your local shop is charging too much. I don't mind paying something extra to the locals, but 40% of the online price? No way...
ETA: what Mark said: it's direct from Amazon, go for it if you're in a buying mood, but be aware it's not a huge savings based on online prices, is the bottom line.

I agree, he tried to tell me the benefit of buying from them, but it didnt amount to much more than a yearly cleaning, discounts on the photography classes they have and "good advice" |

All of those are good. My local store offers the same, though of course I don't "need" their classes, but at a premium of only 10% or so, which seems fair to me. 'Cuz if something breaks, they fix me up with a loaner...
